HISTORICAL HEROES

From the earliest of times there have been Black heroes. From the Black Royalty of yesteryear-- Kings and Queens of tribes and Kingdoms of Africa's interior, to the Black Pharoahs of outer Egypt-- to present day Africa. African King Menes was the first Pharaoh of the united Kingdoms of upper and lower Egypt. He defeated the Asian invaders, uniting Egypt in about 3100 B.C.

MODERN DAY HISTORICAL HEROES

In 2001, Leroy Homer, an African American  Co-Pilot, flying United Airlines flight 93, with Captain Jason Dahl, subdued 9/11 terrorists and prevented the plane from crashing into the Capitol, saving many lives, while sacrificing his own.

THERE ARE TONS OF BLACK HEROES!

SUPERHEROES

We need  more Black superheroes! How many can  you name? Exactly. All children need positive role models, heroes and superheroes-- to inspire self esteem and pride, and the imagination to accomplish great things! Unfortunately,  children of color have not had those vital images reflective of themselves, in multi-media.

This has done a great injustice to minority children-- and a lot of damage-- even to white children who also never see positive and superpower images attributed to their friends of color, which subconsciously teaches children white supremacy.

Psychology matters!!

NIP RACISM AND LOW SELF ESTEEM

IN THE BUD!

Scientists have proven that images start influencing and forming the self esteem of children at very early ages. Affects can last throughout a child's lifetime. We are living in the age of the most prevalent social and multi-media influences ever-- and must realize its affect on young people-- and be more responsible about it. Media affects all children but especially Black children, who have been taught by it, to have the worst self image of all.

Media has relentlessly depicted whites as "winners" and minorities as "not"-- especially Black and Brown peoples. This has an extremely detrimental affect on youth. It's not too late to change this path and be fair to all.

PSYCHOLOGY MATTERS!

We must encourage writers, media execs, talent, and directors, both minority and not-- to raise the bar in their depictions of racial minorities, to a higher standard, in order to combat this destructive problem. Let them know we want to see heroes and superheroes of color, good character, and a diversity in roles.

We have thousands of Black doctors, lawyers, CEO's, scientists, educators, leaders and problem solvers-- why is it we keep seeing thugs in media, who make up only 5% of the population?

The overwelming majority of African Americans are law abiding, hard working, normal-- working, middle and upper class people... Why then, are Black actors and Black TV reality stars REQUIRED TO CURSE like street thugs & act like classless fools-- reguardless of their character , age or profession? Since when is foul language a Black "second language"?

Actors, directors, writers, execs need to:

RAISE THE BAR!

YOU CAN HELP

We can contact them, make requests, or tweet about them in social media to do better, show our support at the box office for positive images and botcott the bad-- and let the TV networks know we've had enough of the foul mouthed, degraded images and stale, negative stereotypes!

RAISE THE BAR!

We are currently working on a Black Super Hero character and screenplay. Your donation can help afford us time and activity towards finishing it, along with our goal of "Did you know? Well you should!" PSA TV info minutes and compilation book.

EVERYDAY HEROES

We have "everyday heroes" happening all the time, who go under the radar or are only known by their community, or a blurb in the newspaper and soon forgotten. We have local and youth heroes and unsung heroes, who humbly do what they feel called to do without fanfare. Too often it is assumed that all heroes are white and all victims are of color-- when it simply is not true.

Let's change that erroneous  stereotype!

Its time for ALL heroes of color to stand up and be counted-- be recognized, and help change the perception and conversation about racial  minorities-- especially Black and Brown youth. LETS MAKE A BIG DEAL OF THEM! Let everyone around the world know,

THEY ARE HEROES!!

A few Black heroes found on the web...

Temar Boggs-- Brave Black 15 year old-- saved a little girl who was abducted, led a team of friends to find her, and rode her home on his bike.

He was humble when interviewed about it.

Dennis Codrington-- Black young man jumped courageously onto subway tracks to save an unconscious man as the train barrelled down. He said he was just "doing what was right".

Steve St.Bernard-- Black bus driver, stopped and caught a little autistic girl he saw standing on an AC unit outside her building 3 stories up.

He was humble about his actions when asked.

Lawrence Sellers-- Black 18 year old Boy Scout was awarded a Rare and Prestigeous Honor medal for shielding his girlfriend from Gunfire as he got shot in his leg.

Wesley Autrey-- Black father of 2 and Navy vet, saved a man who had a seizure and fell onto train tracks, by jumping down onto the tracks, courageously covering the man as he flailed, holding him down, as the train ran over them both-- with a clearance of 21 inches. Wesley and the man successfully topped out at 20.5 inches!

Feidin Santana-- Hispanic young man who bravely video taped the Walter Scott back-shoot murder by a North Charleston S.C. cop, just feet away, gave it to the Scott family and broke the case wide open!

Everyday heroes-- happen everyday!

YOU CAN HELP

If you know of someone or a group or organization-- that is making a difference or did an heroic act-- contact the media and let them know. Many heroes of color tend not to be pro-active in contacting the media, so we need to do it for them! And you can be a hero by helping to create new heroes-- by mentoring, teaching or becoming a Big Brother or Sister in your area.
